Me and Joe.jpg

Hello!

I'm Bec, an award-winning photographer and journalist meshing my loves of people, spaces, stories, and a cracking image. Seasons of Bec is all about capturing the season of life you're in - your evolving family, treasured ageing parents, wedding day, your small but growing business - whatever!

A storyteller at heart, I take a very candid approach to my shoots. My hope is that you and anyone in front of the lens feel super comfortable, themselves, and almost forget I'm there. The result? A gallery of authentic and captivating high-quality images that make you go, 'that's us'.

So, if you're after something that's casual, candid and comfortable with an award-winning difference - get in touch.

Taking shoots around the Hills and greater Adelaide region. WWCC and CASA drone license (Remote Pilot License).

My Story

I love taking photos, always have. As a kid my pocket money would go into early digital cameras, GoPros, whatever I could use to capture life around me in new and creative ways. I was fortunate to turn that love for photos, portraits especially, and a curiosity for people's journeys into a career in journalism.

In my time with the ABC. I turned everyday people and places into widespread feature pieces across online, TV, and radio, on programs like Landline, Back Roads, and Conversations.

As well as being incredibly rewarding, I received various awards for my combination of written and visual storytelling, including Best Feature Photograph at the 2022 SA Press Club Awards, SA Press Club and SA Media Awards Young Journalist of the Year, SA&NT Rural Media Photographer of the Year, and a Top 40 Finalist in the Australian Photography Magazine's Mono Awards.

From the ABC I worked a number of communications and marketing roles, helping schools and State Government departments recognise and capture their own voice, strengths, and strategies.

Becoming a mum in 2024, I decided to take the plunge and pursue a lingering dream of starting my own photography business - something that's allowed me meaningful work between playgroups and pram walks.

When I'm not taking photos around the Adelaide Hills and greater Adelaide region, I love getting out in the shed and growing my DIY capabilities. In another life I could have been a chippy I reckon!

Thanks for swinging by,

Bec
